The forest hut is located at the foot of the mountain range Branisko in the Kanne valley, near the village Fričovce, in the district of Prešov in Eastern Slovakia.
The hut is a rustic wooden house with a big lounge (9 x 5 metres). The 49-inch plasma TV of the brand wood-burning stove is operated by wood. Remember to put on timber regularly to prevent the programme from being interrupted.
There is a smaller room (5 x 5 metres) and a perfectly equipped kitchen with a steel cooktop (run with charcoal) and a tap operated manually (run with muscle strength).
The hall is equipped with cleaning utensils of the do-it-yourself-type – that guarantees an optimum cleaning throughout the house. Under the housetop you find two modern and comfortably equipped rooms of the type „bring your own sheets or you will be sleeping on the ground“. In the summer you can also sleep in the nearby barn or outside in a tent.
In the surrounding area you find the nature reserve Kamenná baba with the Lačnov gorge (Lačnovský kaňon), the mountain ranges Bachureň, Branisko and Dreveník, the forest meadows Čierny močiar, the cave Zlá džura, the mineral water source Salvator, the valley Kopytovská dolina, the rocky town Rajtopiky and the largest castle inCentral Europe – Spiš Castle (Spišský hrad).
In the more distant periphery there are the Prague Castle (616 km away), the Colosseum in Rome (1575 km away) and the „Athens over the river Torysa“ (Prešov, 25 km away).
